Laboratory Management System (LIMS) for Pakistani Labs
Ask any pathologist in Pakistan where their lab loses time and money, and the answer is rarely the analyser — it is the paper around it. Request slips that go missing, results copied by hand into the wrong column, a doctor phoning to chase a report that was ready an hour ago, and a critical value that nobody escalated. IT Vision (Pvt.) Ltd. built the EloHIMS Laboratory Management System to close that loop: order → collect → accession → analyse → validate → report → bill, all in one auditable flow. It runs standalone diagnostic labs and hospital labs alike, and we build and support it right here in Pakistan.
A test catalogue built the way labs actually think
A serious LIMS starts with the menu. EloHIMS lets you define individual tests and grouped panels — CBC, LFTs, RFTs, lipid profile, a local "Fever Profile" bundling MP, Widal, Dengue and Urine R/E — each with its own specimen type, container, method, turnaround target and price. Every measurable parameter carries its own units and, crucially, its own age- and sex-specific reference ranges, because a haemoglobin normal for an adult man is not normal for a newborn. Calculated values like eGFR and Friedewald LDL are handled automatically. This is the discipline PNAC ISO 15189 and CAP accreditation demand, and it is what separates real lab software from a billing screen with test names on it.
Barcoded samples and true sample tracking
Most laboratory errors happen before the sample ever reaches the bench — wrong patient, wrong tube, mislabelled specimen. The EloHIMS laboratory software attacks that head-on: every specimen is accessioned with a unique barcode label at collection and tracked through a clear workflow — collected, in-process, verified, reported — so nothing stalls unseen and the right sample is always matched to the right patient. Sample condition and rejection reasons are captured, feeding a quality record that an accreditation assessor will actually respect.
Result entry, validation and critical-value safety
Results are entered against the correct reference range with automatic high, low and critical flags, so an abnormal value is impossible to overlook. EloHIMS enforces a two-tier release — a technologist technically verifies, then a pathologist medically signs out — so only authorised results reach the clinician. Critical or panic values are flagged the moment they are entered and the release is held until a callback to the doctor is logged, giving your lab a defensible record that the alert was acted on. Every entry, verification, sign-out and amendment is audit-logged with who did what and when.
Professional reports and turnaround you can measure
The report is the product a lab actually sells, and EloHIMS produces a clean A4 report with your letterhead, the patient's demographics, results grouped by section, the reference range that was applied, flags on abnormal values, and the pathologist's sign-out — with an English/Urdu option for patients who need it. Because every step is timestamped from order to report, you can measure turnaround time per test and see breaches before your referring doctors do. Cumulative reports let a clinician track a patient's analyte across dates at a glance.
Built for hospital labs and standalone diagnostic labs
EloHIMS LIMS suits the two shapes of lab that dominate Pakistan. In a hospital lab, orders flow straight from the OPD consultation and inpatient orders, and results appear on the patient's 360° timeline. In a standalone diagnostic lab, patients walk in or are referred, pay at the counter under cash-shift control, and collect a verified report. Every lab customer gets a permanent record and MRN, so panel and credit billing to referring doctors and corporate accounts works cleanly. Lab revenue posts to a real accounting ledger, so your test volumes and income are always visible.
Onboarded and supported by IT Vision
We seed a Pakistani lab menu with common tests, panels and ranges, import your existing test list and prices, configure your sections and users, and train your phlebotomy, technical and reporting staff. Support is local, in Urdu and English, in your own time zone. Pricing is in PKR and scaled from a single-doctor collection point to a busy diagnostic centre.

Frequently asked questions
What is a laboratory management system (LIMS)?
A LIMS is software that runs a diagnostic laboratory end to end — capturing test orders, tracking samples, entering and validating results against reference ranges, and producing verified reports — replacing paper request slips and manual result registers.
Does EloHIMS LIMS support accreditation like ISO 15189?
It is built around accreditation discipline — audit trails on every result, validated age/sex reference ranges, critical-value callback logging, sample-rejection tracking and turnaround-time monitoring — the features PNAC ISO 15189 and CAP require.
Can it handle barcoded samples and sample tracking?
Yes. Every specimen is accessioned with a unique barcode and tracked through collected, in-process, verified and reported, with sample condition and rejection captured.
Does it work for a standalone pathology lab or only inside a hospital?
Both. It runs as an in-hospital lab fed by doctor orders and as a standalone diagnostic lab with walk-in counter billing and referring-doctor accounts.
Are lab reports available in Urdu?
Reports print professionally on A4 with reference ranges, flags and pathologist sign-out, and an English/Urdu bilingual option is available for patient-facing reports.
